Through an internet connection your browser will initiate a connection to the web server by converting the Domain name into an IP address (through domain name service) and then locating the server storing the information for that IP address.

The web server stores all files necessary to display the web page, typically all the individual pages of a website, any images/graphic files and any scripts that make any dynamic elements function.

Once contact has been made the server requests data from the web server and using HTTP the server delivers the data back to your browser. The browser in turn converts, or formats, the computer languages that the files are made up of into what you see displayed in your browser. In the same way the server can send the files to many client computers at the same time, allowing multiple clients to view the same page simultaneously.

Web 2.0 is the term given to describe a second generation of the World Wide Web that is focused on the ability for people to collaborate and share information online. Web 2.0 basically refers to the transition from static HTML Web pages to a more dynamic Web that is more organized and is based on serving Web applications to users.

Other improved functionality of Web 2.0 includes open communication with an emphasis on Web-based communities of users, and more open sharing of information. Over time Web 2.0 has been used more as a marketing term than a computer-science-based term. Blogs, wikis, and Web services are all seen as components of Web 2.0.

Cloud computing is defined as a type of computing that relies on sharing computing resources rather than having local servers or personal devices to handle applications.

In cloud computing, the word cloud is used as a metaphor for the Internet, so the phrase cloud computing means "a type of Internet-based computing," where different services are delivered to an organization's computers and devices through the Internet. Online applications are any programs that are accessed via a network connection using http.

Evaluation - Cory Melville

Is it fit for purpose? 

His purpose was to inform and entertain his audience by putting forward his idea on what the Liverpool team will look like next season. I think he has achieved this as the audience can quickly become immersed in deciding whether they agree with the choices or if they think they can pick better players themselves. 

Are the media elements appropriate? 

He has used animation to make the product more exciting. By introducing each player one by one in the way that he has, coming from off screen, it adds to the excitement of who the next (bad) player he picks is going to be.

Does it work without errors or broken links?

The product works fine without any broken links or errors

Is it professional?

Yes. Each aspect of the finished product was consistent from start to finish. He has clearly showed each player alongside their position and all of the links work perfectly.
